Wednesday Night Pottery Wheel
In this eight week class you will learn all the fundamental aspects of making pottery on the wheel. This class is appropriate for absolute novices and for those who are beginner/intermediate students. Some of the things we will cover in class are wedging clay, mastering centering, coning, creating simple forms, trimming, and adding accessories like handles, lids, feet, rim decor, and the fundamentals of glazing.
This class meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9pm. Students are welcome to bring their own tools, towel, and aprons, but are not necessary.
Class includes 25 pounds of your choice of clay, glazes, firings, use of community tools, and open studio hours for practice on Saturdays 12:30pm-6pm.
Please Note A Few Rules of Our Studio Rules:
- Cleaning up after yourself is expected.
- Respect others work and avoid handling wares that are not yours.
- We encourage easy going and kind personalities in our space. Hatefulness and disruptive behavior in any capacity will not be tolerated. A lack of respect towards other classmates or instructors may result in being removed from class or refusal to keep working in our small community.
- If you are ill, please refrain from attending class. Class makeups can be scheduled with your instructor on Saturdays 12:30-6pm during open studio hours.
