About your Instructor Curry Wilkinson:

Curry began making pottery at a young age, but only recently learned that he could in fact make a career in it. In 2014 he began an apprenticeship with Joseph Sand in Randleman, NC and worked there until 2017 creating a solid foundation on which to continue his pottery career. Curry learned to fire a wood kiln with many potters including Joseph Sand, Mark Hewitt, and Daniel Johnston. Curry was able to take that knowledge and turn it into his own style and build a wood fired kiln with a lot of hard work and the help of supporters and the Regional Artist Project Grant. For Curry, being able to turn the creamy, pliable clay, so abundant in his home state, into functional art is truly a privilege. Curry and his wife Sarah own and operate Curry Wilkinson Pottery located in Burlington, NC. Our kiln was built with support of the North Carolina Arts Council and the partnering arts councils of the Regional Artist Project Grant Program.
